Sweet treats

Here's a quick post that I hope will work correctly!  For some reason, Blogger and I have not been playing well together this week.  I've not had a lot of time to go visiting blogs, but whenever I try to comment, it is fine for a couple, then it tells me something is not working!  Grrr!

Sorry for the bad attitude!  Happy Valentine's Day!!

These were the treats that I made for our sweetheart dinner...
Filled with Hershey's Hugs and Kisses
All ready to go... but I made 52... one's missing!  :-O

I saw this pillow box on Gwen's blog and thought they'd be great for our dinner, so I went to SVG Cutting Files and bought the file.  (It is still on sale as of posting time)  I sized it to get 2 from a 12x12 paper.

I "designed" the tags in MTC, printed them, punched them out, and tied with a bit of ribbon.

challenges...
Anything But a Card #12 - "Share the love"
Celebrate the Occasion #99 - Valentine anything goes
Decorate to Celebrate #44 - Valentine/love

Teddy bear Valentine

*My Tuesday Morning Sketches post is HERE*

I did something I have not done in quite awhile!  I used an image from a Cricut cartridge for the main focus of my card!  I use my Expression a lot for a variety of things, but most of the time I use MTC or just use a cart for a little heart, star, corner, etc.   I use digis for most of my projects, so my cartridges have begun to collect dust! :/  After Thanksgiving, I bought my first set of Peachy Keen stamps but had never used them!!  It was time!!  So I went searching for something or someone that needed a face and here is what I came up with... a Valentine for my son.

I meant to give him more of a real bear nose, but forgot!
I used just the shadow and base of the bear from CAC.  (Trimmed off the skirt since this is for a boy!)
I remembered to take a pic of the inside!!

Recipe...
~Create a Critter bear cut at 3"
~Policeman's tie from EDPD
~Peachy Keen Everyday Character Face Assortment
~AC "jolly" DP
~My Pink Stamper "Simply Sweet Occasions" sentiment and hearts
~Memento  Rhubarb ink
~Recollections border punch
~Spellbinders Circles
~Craft Essentials heart brads
~white gel pen

Challenges...
Peachy Keen Challenge 13-5 - photo inspiration (I used the colors)
Paper Playtime Ch #3 - border punches
Cricut Cardz Challenge #124 - "Be My Valentine" round or square card
Cards for men: challenge 3 - "All my love"
Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Me Monday #147 - "Queen of Hearts"
Terrific Tuesday Challenge - Valentine's Day
{PIN}spirational Challenge #43 - photo inspiration (I took the "love")

Verse tile - vinyl

I'm back again today with another quick post.  Did you see my London card??  Made with the coolest stamp set ever!!!

This is a project that I tried to make awhile ago, but neither the vinyl nor the tile cooperated! Grr!!  I was home with my sick daughter yesterday so I had a little more craft time than usual, and I started working on favors for our Valentine Banquet this Friday.  That was going well, so I decided to tackle this again.  Success!!

**note to self - - - ALWAYS clean the tile with vinegar first!!!  Just a damp cloth will NOT do!!

Vinyl on tile is a lot of fun (when it works!) and is a very economical gift idea!!  I've done many, many tiles for gifts.  Vinyl on the walls is awesome, too!  Lately, I worked with heat set vinyl and have made some T's and onesies.

If you are interested, here are a couple of my earlier posts with instructions and ideas.
If you click the label "vinyl" below, it will bring up all my vinyl posts.

This verse is from Word Art Wednesday on Jan 23.   I tried it that weekend because as soon as I saw this verse, I knew I wanted to use it on a tile to put in the vestibule at church.  This shoud be our prayer every time we enter the Lord's house!!   I pray this will be a blessing and encouragement, and maybe even conviction, to our church family.

Challenges...
Word Art Wednesday #65 - anything goes
Inspire Me Fridays #94 - anything goes

Supplies...
~Oracal 651 vinyl
~WAW verse pixel traced in MTC and cut on my Cricut
~9x12 ceramic tile (53 cents!!)

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!

London note card

Oh  my goodness!  I realize this image is not what you usually see on your normal note card and it is probably more suited for my England scrapbook, but I was so excited when I got the set that I had to make something!

I don't even remember what I was searching for when I came across these and I guess I never did find what I was looking for because once I saw this set, I forgot about everything else!!!  Like I said, it's not your normal card, but I will use it to send a note to one of the girls who went along on the trip with us or for a note to a friend over there.

Isn't this awesome???  All it needs to be perfect is "mind the gap"!! LOL

Supplies...
~JustRite Greetings From London image
~Spectrum Noir markers
~Spellbinders Labels Four
~Papermania Portobello Road DP (My bloggie friend Anne-Marie sent me some goodies last summer when she heard my DD LOVES all things British.  Thank you again, Anne-Marie!!)
~Perfect Paisley embossing folder
~TH faded jeans distress ink
~banner cut in MTC

I used the sketch from The Sweet Stop: SSS196

Check back tomorrow because I have used another of these for my TMS card!!  Thanks for stopping and have a great day!!!

Love hearts and a bear

Here's a Valentine that will probably be for one of my kids.  When they were little they would give Valentine's to just a few friends (we home school so they never had classmates to give to), but Valentine's Day has never been a huge deal for us.  Sometimes I get some roses! :)
Since I started making cards, I have to make Valentine cards for challenges, so my kids now get a card!! :)  I imagine this one will go to one of the girls rather than my son!!

Can you believe it is February??   This month, our third daughter officially becomes a teenager!  This month, we have Valentine's Day!  That means hearts and flowers, and more importantly, chocolate!!  :)  (We hit the store the day AFTER to get it for 50% off!!)

It's the first day of the month and that means it is the February New Release at Doodle Pantry!   Laurie, as always, has made some wonderful new digis and colored some older outline digis.

I used the PRE-COLORED image and digi paper from Hockey Puck Ants.  I'm sorry for yelling at you, but I've felt so guilty for the times I receive wonderful compliments on my coloring... of pre-colored digis!!  LOL

Aren't these guys cute?

I made a second card using one of the newly colored sets... Daffodil and Sweat Peas Color...

Aren't these beautiful??

Be sure to go check out all the new releases for this month, then come over to the Doodle Pantry Challenge Blog and play along.  The challenge DPDC31 starts at noon today and goes until 9 PM EST on Feb 24.  You need to use a Doodle Pantry image... stop by the freebies page if you don't have one.

Just for playing, you will receive the featured image FREE!!  This month's featured image is this Phonograph!  Isn't this gorgeous??

Also, if you make a purchase at Doodle Pantry from Feb 1-24, you will receive this Quirky Frog set free!!  It will be available in the store after that date.
